Background

In the old days there were water mills in a lot of places, which used water power to generate mechanical energy to turn shafts to mill corn, etc.  It was the local power house.

For years I have walked past or along rivers and streams in Wales (and England!) and thought that the flow of the water there could be generating hydro-electricity.  What a waste it is for all this water to be just flowing and doing nothing!

So, I gradually developed the idea of very small-scale electricity generation from rivers and streams – without the need for dams or leats, etc.  An undershot Hydrotor (waterwheel) system that “floats” on the water, maintaining maximum efficiency. Also, on a bigger scale, an array of undershot Hydrotors, raising and lowering automatically with the water level.

But there is perhaps an even bigger thing: the necessity of educating people all over the World of the existence of such devices and to help give them the wherewithal to find suitable places, choose the best type, then make them or buy them.
